Disparities in Prostate Cancer Screening Behavior Between Blacks and Whites

Summary
The research project is for the use of a capstone project for Wayne R. Lawrence who is a Master of Public Health candidate in Epidemiology at Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. The results acquired from this project will be used for his capstone presentation and manuscript that may be submitted for publication.

The intention of the project is to examine racial differences in prostate cancer screening behavior for both PSA and DRE. The project will also take into account independent variables such as educational level, insurance coverage and occupation. Screening behavior within the past three years will be examined to determine racial differences.

Multinomial Regression and multivariate logistic regression will be used for analysis

Aims

Comparing racial differences in prostate cancer screening behavior for both PSA and DRE.
Examine racial differences in screening behavior for the past three years.
Examine the Influence educational level has on screening behavior for prostate cancer.
Examine the influence insurance coverage has on screening behavior for prostate cancer.
