NLST Results by Age

Summary
In April 2014, the MEDCAC panel advised CMS on coverage of lung CT screening. Several questions were raised about the results of NLST specific for the medicare-aged population (65+). This analysis examines all results of NLST by age.

Aims

1. To examine NLST demographics, smoking history and comorbidities by age (< 65 vs 65+).
2. To examine CT screening results and diagnostic follow-up by age.

3. To examine lung cancer treatment and survival by age.

4. To examine mortality benefit and NNS by age.
