Smoking and Lung Cancer in PLCO and NLST
We will consider smoking but also take into account key covariates such as age, family history and COPD. We will also conduct specific analyses in controls to look at more detailed smoking behaviors, and to construct and validate risk models that incorporate the effects of smoking and other environmental factors.
To compare lung cancer risk factors across PLCO and compare the findings to other population-based cohorts.
To compare heterogeneity of effects for key lung cancer risk variants by subject and disease characteristics.
To examine lung cancer risk models incorporating genetic and environmental factors.
