Title
TTFC and COPD in PLCO

Summary
We have recently shown that TTFC (Time to First Cigarette), the 2nd question in the Fagerstrom Index, is related to lung cancer risk in PLCO. We now want to examine the same question regarding chronic bronchitis and emphysema in PLCO.

Aims

1. Is TTFC related to chronic bronchitis and emphysema, after adjustment for the usual COPD risk factors, i.e. age, gender, race, smoking status.
2. Is TTFC related to abnormalities on chest xray after similar adjustment?
