Title
Metabolomic Profiles of Diabetes-Risk Reduction Diet and Cancer Risk
Summary
We develop a Diabetes-Risk Reduction Diet (DRRD) score based on dietary components associated with a lower risk of diabetes, including cereal fiber, nuts, coffee, whole fruits, and the ratio of polyunsaturated to saturated fat (positively scored); and glycemic index, trans fats, sugar-sweetened beverages (included soda, fruit paunch, and fruit juices), and total red and processed meats (negatively scored). DRRD-related metabolomic profiles will be determined and their associations with risk of cancer will be evaluated.
Aims

1. Identify the metabolomic profiles associated with the DRRD using metabolites measured among cancer free participants.
2. Evaluate the associations between these metabolomic profiles and cancer incidence, overall and by types including breast cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
