Title
Impact of Family History on Colorectal Cancer Incidence and Expression
Summary
Using the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) cancer screening trial, this study aims to analyze the impact of a family history of colorectal cancer (CRC) on CRC incidence. In particular, we aim to examine the relationship of a family history in 1st degree relatives on overall CRC risk and on presentation in relation to chronologic age.
A full proposal with planned shell tables and figures has been prepared and is attached above with the biosketch.
A full proposal with planned shell tables and figures has been prepared and is attached above with the biosketch.
Aims
1. To examine the association between the presence of a family history of CRC, the age of onset in the first degree relative, and the number of affected first degree relatives in comparison to the absence of a family history, on colorectal cancer incidence.
2. To examine the effect of screening flexible sigmoidoscopy (FSG) on CRC incidence in subjects with a family history compared to those without.
