From physiology to pathology
Summary
The project aim to characterise regional differences across the brain in plasticity. We have already analysed publicly available brain transcriptome data to demonstrate that the association regions of the brain have higher gene expression for processes related to brain plasticity. The next stage of the project aims to link these with the incidence of gliomas across the cortex. We will directly compare whether regions with increased plasticity in adulthood also confer higher vulnerability for carcinogenesis. To that end we request access to the the "glio_topography" variable.
