Title
External Data Integration in Prostate Cancer Trials

Summary
In clinical studies, multiple complementary data sets are often available, yet they are typically analyzed in isolation. Integrating external complementary data into the analysis of current data can lead to more accurate inferences, better decision-making, and improved model fit. Both the Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial (SELECT) and the Prostate, Lung, Colon, Ovarian (PLCO) Prevention Trial collected competing risks survival data, where participants could develop either low-grade or high-grade prostate cancer, a scenario that fits into a competing risks framework. We will develop statistical methods that enable the integration of external data within a competing risks framework.

Aims

- Aim 1: Develop a statistical method for integrating external data into a competing risks framework.
- Aim 2: Establish a framework for assessing the impact of external data on statistical analysis based on dataset characteristics.
