Title
Etiologic heterogeneity across head and neck cancer subsites
Summary
We will evaluate the etiologic heterogeneity across broad head and neck cancer sites (i.e., oral cavity, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and larynx), and within oral cavity (i.e., lip, oral tongue, gum, floor of mouth, and hard palate and other parts of the mouth) and oropharyngeal (i.e., base of tongue, tonsil, and soft palate and pharyngeal wall) subsites. With incidence of these head and neck cancer sites as the outcome, we will assess associations with various risk factors, including age, sex, race/ethnicity, BMI, education, smoking, alcohol use, as well as intake of specific types of vegetables based on botanical classifications.
Aims

- Evaluate etiologic heterogeneity across broad head and neck cancer sites, and within oral cavity and oropharyngeal subsites looking at associations with major risk factors, including smoking and alcohol intake.

- Evaluate associations with specific vegetable groups across broad head and neck cancer sites, and within oral cavity and oropharyngeal subsites, adjusting for known risk factors
