Title
The Impact of Obesity on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Colorectal Cancer

Summary
This project will look at the impact of obesity, defined as a BMI ≥30.0, on the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, using non-obese patients for comparison.

Aims

This study aims to investigate:
- Whether obese patients have more advanced stage cancers at time of diagnosis
- Whether there is a delay between the time of diagnosis and surgical intervention in those who are obese versus non-obese
- Whether there is a discrepancy in the colostomy or ileostomy reversal rates between those who are obese versus non-obese
- Innovative ways to address weight bias in healthcare
