Title
Exploring Social Determinants of Health as predictors on Treatment Outcomes in African American Prostate Cancer Patients

Summary
This comprehensive dissertation delves into the underexplored realm of Social Determinants of Health (SDH) variables as predictive factors for treatment outcomes, particularly survival status, among African-American prostate cancer patients. Rooted in Bibb Latane's seminal Social Impact Theory (Latane, 1981), this study aims to unravel the intricate web of social factors that influence treatment outcomes and survival rates in a culturally diverse population grappling with prostate cancer. In summary, the study weaves together the principles of Social Impact Theory and the complex web of social determinants of health, including the influence of race, this dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these factors intersect and impact treatment outcomes in culturally diverse prostate cancer patients. In doing so, it offers insights that can guide healthcare providers in addressing the unique challenges faced by this patient population, ultimately fostering improved treatment outcomes and reduced health disparities.

Aims

The purpose of this Quantitative study is to explore Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) variables as predictors on treatment outcomes (survival) of African American prostate cancer patients.
Aims:
-To better understand the extent in which SDH variables predict treatment outcomes (survival status) in African American prostate cancer patients
-To better understand trends and patterns as it relates to treatment outcomes across multiple ethnic groups
-To better understand the disparities and needs of prostate cancer patients based on SDOH variables
-To run a regression analysis that will be used to analyze the archival data to further explore the relationship between SDH variables and treatment outcomes.
-To analyze and dissect the archival dataset through deployment of the regression analysis to ensure that I can can precisely quantify the impact of SDH factors on treatment outcomes, thereby enriching the academic communities understanding of this critical healthcare relationship
