Title
Developing a breast cancer risk model for methodologic research on improving external validity of risk models

Summary
We are developing methods to assess the external validity of risk models fit in cohorts, which usually have "healthy volunteer effects" that make them healthier than the general population. We would like to test these methods by developing a breast cancer risk model using our new methodology to combine data from PLCO and NHIS survey data. We will compare model parameters and predictions versus established models. This project is purely to advance development of methods, not for any clinical purpose.

Aims

1. Develop an absolute risk model for breast cancer incidence, and also for breast cancer mortality, using our new methods for combining data from PLCO and NHIS.
