Title
Application and Analysis of Mathematical tools in biological model
Summary
Androgen deprivation therapy or hormone therapy is one of the widely used treatment methods available for Prostate cancer. This therapy uses drugs to block the production of hormones that accelerates the growth of cancer-causing cells. The androgen-dependent and independent cells are present inside the patient’s prostate gland, and their apoptosis and proliferation depend on the circulating androgen levels. There is a competition for existence between these cells. This paper examines the mathematical model of prostate cancer under hormone therapy. Then, a nonlinear active control method is applied to the cancer model to achieve the desired population of AD cells and AI cells for a particular concentration of androgen hormone. A super-twisting sliding mode controller and fuzzy controller based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy (T-S fuzzy) algorithm have been proposed to minimize the population of AI and AD cells that may mutate to cancer cells. The proposed fuzzy controller has been implemented using Linear Matrix Inequality
(LMI) algorithm and the YALMIP toolbox and is globally asymptotically
stable. The theoretical results are validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK
Aims

Minimization of cancer cells in addition to bring down the PSA level to a safe value.
