Title
Link between breast cancer and female lifestyle habits

Summary
Our study would aim to investigate lifestyle and potential hereditary factors of breast cancer patients. As there has been previous research showing a link between breast cancer and menstrual cycle, contraception, age at first pregnancy and number of pregnancies, we would analyze the prevalence of breast cancer compared to these factors within the cohort. But we would also like to identify potential other factors that can lead to a woman potentially developing breast cancer in her lifetime. Some of the other aspects of their lives that we would analyze include family medical history, body type, dietary habits, and female specific lifestyle habits. Investigating these potential lifestyle and hereditary links would allow for the development of future studies and interventions for women.

Aims

Previous research has shown an association between breast cancer, age at first menstrual cycle, and number of pregnancies; however, there are limited studies identifying potential links between breast cancer and diet, lifestyle, and family medical history. We would initiate a project to begin to bridge the gaps between those, therefore our study will focus more on the preventative health factors, rather than analyzing tumor size and location, to help identify more factors in a woman’s life than can be used as a preventative health factor in the future.
