Title
Improving Breast Cancer Risk Prediction Across Ethnicities
Summary
Breast cancer risk prediction and stratification is critically important for making clinical decisions regarding additional screening or other treatment plans, particularly for women with a family history of cancer. Recently, polygenic risk models have been shown to stratify women, particularly those in the highest percentiles of risk. However, It is a known fact that most genome-wide association studies have been performed in individuals of European descent. MyOme is working to develop methods to increase the predictive ability of genetic models across populations by leveraging factors (genetic and phenotypic_ that are common across populations. We will use the data in this cohort to train and/or test these methods.
Aims

* Implement and test new methods for polygenic risk model building to improve performance across ethnicities
* Test methods of phenotype incorporation in risk models
* Develop and test methods of integrating genetic and phenotypic information for risk prediction
