Title
Applying econometric methods to examine heterogeneity in the impact of screening
Summary
I propose to use the PLCO trial data to examine heterogeneity in the impact of screening. To do so, I will apply econometric methods that I am working to advance. I have already applied such methods to data from the Canadian National Breast Screening Study, the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment, and the PROWESS trial. (See https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/amanda-kowalski/publications/) In each of these contexts, I have uncovered meaningful heterogeneity.
Aims

o Apply econometric methods to examine treatment effect heterogeneity
o Compare treatment effect heterogeneity across trial arms

Collaborators

I am the PI of this project. I will also involve research assistants who will work with the data, and they are also named on this form. When new research assistants join my team, I will submit their information if I am required to do so.

Upon project approval, all the data will be stored in the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) servers, and access to the data will be restricted only to the approved users (NBER staff and my research team). Mohan Ramanujan, who is a Unix Systems Administrator at the NBER, has been named as an approved user later on this form.
