Title
Impact of colorectal cancer sidedness on the outcomes of colorectal cancer patients diagnosed within PLCO study
Summary
Colorectal cancer side (right versus left) has been recently shown to potentially impact the outcomes of early and advanced stage patients with colorectal cancer. Moreover, side of the primary tumor was shown to potentially predict response to specific systemic therapies. However, most of the findings were based on retrospectively collected datasets / registries. There is a need to replicate these findings on a prospectively collected dataset (e.g. PLCO trial data set). Alcohol use and physical exercise will be researched.
Aims

1. Determine the impact of side of the primary tumor (right versus left ) on the mortality from colorectal cancer among cases diagnosed with colorectal cancer in the PLCO study.
