Title
Validation of Liverpool Lung Project (LLP) Model Version 3
Summary
We are developing an updated version of the Liverpool Lung Project (LLP) risk prediction model for incident lung cancer (LLPv3). We plan to use PLCO data to validate our model and examine possible risk thresholds for selecting ever-smokers into lung screening.
Aims

1) Externally validate the LLPv3 model by calculating measures of calibration (ratio of expected to observed lung cancer cases) and discrimination (area under the ROC curve statistic [AUC]).
3) Examine potential risk thresholds for selecting ever-smokers into lung screening by calculating the proportion of ever-smokers selected, sensitivity, and specificity of different risk thresholds.
