Title
Models to study disease progression in Prostate cancer patients
Summary
We would like to study prognostic models using clinical variables collected in Prostate cancer patients followed up through PLCO study. Our hypothesis includes identification of clinical factors and genotypic differences that influence progression of aggressive prostate cancer. We would also compare standard of care procedures (digital rectal exams, prostate specific antigen) effectiveness in early detection and in tracking disease progression in prostate cancer.

We will also like to evaluate effectiveness of models in our local cancer centers cohorts.
Aims

1) Study disease progression in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and effectiveness of PSA as a marker for disease progression

2) Identify specific genotypes that may be related to disease progression and relate them to standard of care markers (PSA, DRE).
