Title
Relationship of baseline colonoscopy findings to long term risk of CRC

Summary
The long term risk of cancer based on colonoscopy findings is unknown, because few cohorts with colonoscopy have long term follow up. For example, the long term risk of cancer for subjects with no adenoma vs. those with non-advanced vs. those with advanced adenomas has not been well studied. In the PLCO trial, over 10,000 subjects underwent colonoscopy as a result of initial abnormal flex sig screen. These subjects have a mean long term follow up of over 11 years. We propose to examine cancer risk over time in relation to baseline colonoscopy findings.

Aims

To examine the risk of subsequent colorectal cancer among subjects with no adenoma, non-advanced adenoma, and advanced adenoma in the PLCO trial.
To examine the risk, after excluding interval cancers.
To examine risk while accounting for surveillance colonoscopy use (linking data from SCU trial).
