Title
Texture analysis of lung nodules

Summary
Our goal is to develop quantitative image analysis methods to distinguish benign and malignant nodules based on quantitative texture analysis of images. We will apply our methods to the NLST data with a mixture of benign and malignant nodules with the goal of automatically predicting the nodule type based in the image analysis.

Aims

1. Develop the quantitative texture algorithm
2. Apply the algorithm to all NLST cases in which nodules size is greater than 7mm.
3. Using cross validation, optimize and text algorithm for ability to separate benign and malignant diagnoses
