Title
The interaction between body mass index and hormonal receptor status in breast cancer

Summary
This project will look at how body mass index (BMI) may relate to hormonal receptor status in breast cancer tumours. Our overall research aims to investigate the contribution of adipocytes or fat cells in the tumour microenvironment may influence therapeutic response to endocrine therapies. To support our in vitro work, we plan to investigate how different classifications of BMI may affect the hormonal status of breast cancers and thus the indicated treatment options.

Aims

- Investigate the trends between BMI and hormonal receptor status
- Investigate the trends between BMI and breast cancer staging at diagnosis
