Title
Factors associated with time to diagnosis in abnormal suspicious screens in the NLST.
Summary
We plan to carry out descriptive and analytic epidemiologic analyses to get a better understanding of the existing patterns of time to diagnosis (distributions) and identify what factors predict time to diagnosis (TtoDx).
In subject who have a positive screen that turns out to be lung cancer, TtoDx will be defined as the time from Abnormal Suspicious screen (AS) date to lung cancer diagnosis date. In subjects who have a positive screen that turns out not to be lung cancer, the TtoDx will be defined as the time from AS screen to date of last diagnostic work-up procedure date. Analysis will be stratified by imaging lesion type. This will help control for situations where a small nodule is observed for growth or no-growth with periodic repeat CT scans for two or more years.
