Title
The relationship between stroke mortality and vasectomy in men using the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial
Summary
Stroke is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for about 1 in every 19 deaths, and the mortality rate for stroke is higher in men than in women [1]. Vasectomy is considered a safe, effective, and practical option for birth control. Although previous animal studies have shown accelerated atherosclerosis after vasectomy, epidemiological studies have found that vasectomy does not increase the risk of subsequent stroke [2]. There is no definitive answer to the relationship between stroke mortality and vasectomy, which is complex and not fully understood. Therefore, the possible relationship between stroke mortality and vasectomy remains to be elucidated.

Aims
Using the data from PLCO including the Baseline Questionnaire, Supplemental Questionnaire, and Diet History Questionnaire, we aim to assess the association between vasectomy and stroke mortality. A competing risk model will be performed to estimate the hazard ratios.
