Title
Associations between lifestyle factors and colorectal cancer in the PLCO Cancer Screening Trial
Summary
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in both men and women in the US and the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths. While colorectal cancer rates are declining in the US overall, much work is yet to be done to establish risk factors of individuals related to demographic, potentially modifiable dietary, lifestyle and screening for developing colorectal cancer in the US. This information will benefit individuals and clinicians to inform decision-making and to assist in determining individuals at highest risk of developing colorectal cancer.
Aims

1) Our first goal is to evaluate the associations between demographic, potentially modifiable dietary, lifestyle and screening factors using the data collected in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial with the risk of development of colorectal cancer.

2) Our second goal is to will assess associations of the same set of factors with the development of colorectal cancer for sub-cohorts, including males and females separately.
