Title
Investigation of the dependencies between socio-demographic data and cancer images

Summary
A research group of Hungarian universities and research institutes (Szechenyi Istvan University Gyor, Debrecen University, Szeged University, Eotvos Lorand University Budapest, Alfred Renyi Mathematical Institute) has a project about segmentation of cancer images with different methods (artificial intelligence, spatial statistics, shape analysis). The main focus of our research is to determine the efficiency of different identification methods affected by socio-demographic data (gender, age, race, etc.) of patients. The amount of data available in Hungary is not sufficient for this study so we would require the NLST data.
The project will be completed in August 2020.

Aims

1.) The estimation of the necessary sample size needed to develop a reliable disease classification.
2.) Verifying if the procedures developed by using the data of specific groups of patients can be used to diagnose other patients.
