Title
Cost-effectiveness of low dose CT scan screening for lung cancer in New Zealand
Summary
The project applies a cost-effectiveness model to the economic evaluation of lung cancer screening in New Zealand. In particular it aims to explore a range of assumptions about the efficacy of the intervention, the nature of the population to be screened (New Zealand Maori and non-Maori), and elements of the screening programme (frequency, costs etc).
Aims

To calculate the incremental cost-effectiveness of lung cancer screening in New Zealand Maori and non-Maori men and women.
To determine the sensitivity of the incremental cost-effectiveness estimates to the assumptions inherent in the model.
To provide the government of New Zealand and key health sector stakeholders with information that will help them determine the potential value of a screening programme for lung cancer in this country, and the specific subpopulations that it would be most likely to benefit.
