Genomic Variation and Risk of Breast, Prostate, Lung and Colorectal Cancers: a Kin-Cohort Study within CGEMS
The primary aim of our proposal is to construct a kin-cohort study for conducting dense genome-wide scans among first-degree relatives of the CGEMS prostate scan participants to identify susceptibility loci for the four most common cancer types (prostate, breast, colon/rectum and lung). More generally, we seek to investigate whether kin-cohort studies constructed from whole-genome scans can provide useful additional information in identifying genomic regions associated with cancer risk.
