Title
Outcomes of Lung Cancer CT Screening in Clinical Practice Compared to the National Lung Screening Trial
Summary
Clinical practice guidelines for performing lung cancer screening with low dose CT are based on methods used in the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST). However, little is known about the performance of lung cancer screening in the clinical practice setting relative to the NLST. As one of the screening centers in the NLST, we are able to assess how screening under current clinical guidelines compares to screening under NLST guidelines at the same institution. Determining how well intermediate outcomes of screening in clinical practice compare to those found in the NLST may provide an indication of how well lung cancer screening performs in the clinical setting.
Aims

To compare patient characteristics and intermediate outcomes in the Siteman Cancer Center lung cancer screening program with those found in NLST participants who were screened at Washington University.
