Title
Artificial Intelligence in Oncology
Summary
Lung cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Radiotherapy is a basic form of treatment and is used in all stages of both non-small cell and small-cell forms. To improve the quality and consistency of diagnosis, we propose to develop AI-based tools to assist in nodule detection and classification. To improve the quality and consistency of treatment planning for radiotherapy, we propose to develop AI-based tools to assist in image segmentation. Our hope is that AI-based automation will enable greater access to quality cancer care, particularly in low- and middle-income emerging countries.
Aims

* Develop an AI-based approach to detect lung nodules and classify them as malignant or benign
* Develop AI-based automated segmentation of lung nodules
