Title
Longitudinal assessment of the lung images

Summary
Computer programs have automatically identified lung nodules in static images. This project will examine if the automatic identification can benefit from using the CT images taken repeatedly from the same patient. An automated learning algorithm will be trained to identify lung nodules by comparing images taken from the same patient over multiple years. Its performance will be compared with algorithms without the capability to compare images taken from the same patient.

Aims

I will examine if an automated learning algorithm can identify lung nodules better if it can compare between images taken repeatedly from the same patient across multiple years.
