Title
Cancer detection using deep learning
Summary
Machine learning (AI to the general public), attempts to learn high level abstractions of data it is given in an attempt to accurately predict the output of data it did not train on.

For the past several years, one machine learning idea has been the main interest of academic institutions and professionals alike due to its unparalleled accuracy: Deep Learning.

Vaguely inspired by the human brain, it repeatedly applies convolutions to the image(s). While this itself doesn’t seem very revolutionary, it resulted in breaking nearly every record in the most popular benchmark test, including medical image segmentation.

By using deep learning, we hope to make a system that can accurately detect cancer in chest CT scan images.
Aims

Make a general detection tool for cancer in chest CT scan images.
