Title
Use of the NLST CT and CXR Data to Better Understand Laten Tuberculosis and Risk of DIsease Progression
Summary
Our goal is to better understand the radiographic changes present on both CT scans and CXRs in a large population of smokers screened for lung cancer. Our premise is that radiographic changes (scarring, infiltrates, cavities, adenopathy, etc) will be more commonly associated with tuberculosis than lung cancer in this older screened population. We will use a database query and individual image review to achieve the
Aims

1) Assess the frequency of radiographic changes on CT and CXR that can be associated with tuberculosis in the initial screened group.
2) Assess the changes of these abnormalities across time (rescreening).
3) Determine the relative sensitivity of CT vs CXR on radiographic changes associated with tuberculosis
