Title
Establishment of Screening Center Satellites

Summary
Screening Centers in need of supplemental assistance in reaching research study goals may consider establishing a satellite system. A number of NLST Screening Centers have used satellites to meet specific needs in reaching their recruitment and screening goals. Analysis of SC responses to surveys and focus group questions will address barriers encountered, institutional involvement and resource management that will be used in establishing viable criteria for a successful satellite venture. Guidelines will be presented to address specific tasks to be accomplished in establishing a satellite.

Aims

The purpose of this project is to identify factors the Screening Center coordinators perceive were important for operating a satellite. Specific aims that will support this process are: 1. Development of a survey to be administered to the 10 Screening Centers regarding utilization of satellites within their own SC structure 2. Focus group participation by screening centers to help identify how satellites were used and the resources required for their operation 3. Present a summary of resources used in a. initiation/design of satellite b. daily operations of the satellite
