Government Funding Lapse

Because of a lapse in government funding, the information on this website may not be up to date, transactions submitted via the website may not be processed, and the agency may not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted. The NIH Clinical Center (the research hospital of NIH) is open. For more details about its operating status, please visit cc.nih.gov. Updates regarding government operating status and resumption of normal operations can be found at OPM.gov.

Deployment Datasets

A service member's deployment may come in from a single deployment record, or multiple records can pertain to the same deployment. It is not uncommon for one record to end and a new deployment record to start on the following day. A new deployment record that begins the day after the previous one ends typically involves a change in the deployment country, though not always. Summary information regarding deployments are also available.

For each dataset, a Data Dictionary that describes the data is publicly available. In order to obtain the actual data in SAS or CSV format, you must begin a new MACS project. Data will be delivered once the project is approved and data transfer agreements are completed. A justification must be provided in the IRB Proposal for each data category as grouped in the data dictionary, showing how it supports the aims of the request.
