Title
Type 2 diabetes prevention diet and the risk of renal cancer in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial
Summary
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a serious threat to human health and is a predisposing factor for many chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease and cancer [1]. A dietary diabetes risk reduction score was developed for T2D prevention, which features high intakes of cereal fiber, polyunsaturated fats, nuts, and coffee; and low amounts of carbohydrates, trans fat, sweets, and red and processed meat [2]. Previous study has reported that greater adherence to the T2D prevention diet was associated with a lower risk of developing Hepatocellular carcinoma among US men and women [3]. However, there are no epidemiological studies evaluating the potential association between T2D prevention diet and renal cancer risk.

Aims

To investigate the association of T2D prevention diet with renal cancer risk in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial.
